Build your resume — it updates as you type

Work down the steps on the left; your resume, strength score and checklist update live on the right. Nothing is uploaded — your draft auto-saves in this browser only, and downloads are free and unlimited.

Your details Step 1

The header of your resume. City and country are enough — never your full home address.

Target role & summary Step 2

Pick the role you are applying for — it powers the summary writer and the skills suggestions — then write or generate a 2–3 line summary.

0 words — aim for 30–55

Education Step 3

Your most recent qualification first. As a fresher, this section carries the most weight — fill it in fully.

Experience & internships Step 4

Internships, part-time jobs, freelance work and volunteering all count. One achievement per line, starting with a strong verb — built, cleaned, designed, increased…

Projects Step 5

For freshers, projects are proof. Academic, personal or freelance — if you built it, it belongs here.

Skills Step 6

Suggestions come from your target role. Tap to add or remove — aim for 10–15 skills you can honestly demonstrate.

Extras Step 7

Certifications and languages are easy wins for freshers — they show initiative beyond the classroom.

Resume strength

Start with your name, target title and education — the score climbs as each section lands.

Your draft auto-saves in this browser only — nothing is sent to a server. Sending the resume to a phone or another computer? Download the Word file as your backup copy.

Check your resume against a real job posting

Found a job you want? Paste its description here. The checker scans your finished resume for the skills and keywords the posting asks for — the same first pass an applicant tracking system makes — and shows exactly what is missing.

    Paste the job description

Runs entirely in your browser. The posting is never uploaded or stored.

    Your match score appears here.

How a fresher resume actually gets you shortlisted

Recruiters give a first resume about six seconds. With no job history to lean on, those seconds are won with structure: the right sections, in the right order, each one carrying proof instead of claims.

    1

Lead with education and a sharp summary

Your degree, university and graduation year go near the top, under a two-line summary that names the role you want and your two or three strongest skills. No “objective: seeking a challenging position” filler — it tells the recruiter nothing.

    2

    Turn coursework into experience

Projects, internships, freelance gigs, society work — each becomes an entry with bullet points that start with an action verb and carry a number: records cleaned, users reached, marks scored, deadlines met. Numbers are what make a fresher believable.

    3

Match the posting, then check the score

Before applying, paste the job description into the checker above and add the missing keywords you honestly have. Then glance at your strength score — above 80 means the resume is saying everything a fresher resume can say.

    Do this

    • Keep it to one page — and one page that looks full, not padded
    • Start every bullet with an action verb and add a number wherever one exists
    • List relevant coursework under your degree (subjects the job actually needs)
    • Add certifications — they prove initiative a degree alone cannot
    • Name the file YourName-Resume, never “resume final v3”
    • Re-check keywords against every job posting before you apply

    Skip this

    • No photo, date of birth, marital status or ID numbers
    • No full home address — city and country are enough
    • No skill bars or star ratings (“Excel ★★★★”) — ATS cannot read them and recruiters ignore them
    • No “References available on request” — it wastes a line everyone assumes
    • No unprofessional email like coolboy99@… — make a clean name-based one
    • Never copy a senior professional's resume structure — freshers are judged on potential, not tenure

Start from your role — summary and skills included

Picking a starter role sets your target title, loads a role-specific summary you can edit, and pre-selects the skills recruiters search for in that field. You can change anything afterwards.

Bullet points that make “no experience” disappear

The difference between a weak fresher resume and a shortlisted one is usually the bullets. Steal these patterns — swap in your own numbers, tools and results — and start every line with one of the verbs below.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I write a resume with no work experience?

Lead with your education, then replace the missing job history with proof: academic projects, internships, freelance or volunteer work, certifications and relevant coursework. Every entry gets bullet points that start with an action verb and include a number where you can — team size, marks, users, deadlines met. Recruiters hiring freshers are looking for evidence you can do the work, and projects and internships are that evidence. The sample resume in the builder shows exactly how this looks when it is done.

What should a fresher put in the professional summary?

Two to three lines: your degree or field, the role you are targeting, two or three strongest skills, and one proof point such as a project, internship or certification. Skip vague lines like “seeking a challenging position in a reputed company” — they say nothing about you. Pick your role in Step 2 and use the summary writer: it produces three role-specific versions you can use as-is or edit.

How long should a fresher resume be?

One page. With less than two years of experience, one well-filled page beats two thin ones. If the page looks empty, add a projects section, relevant coursework or certifications rather than padding with hobbies. If it overflows, trim the oldest or least relevant bullets first.

Which resume format do recruiters and ATS software prefer?

Reverse-chronological, single-column, with standard headings like Education, Experience, Projects and Skills. All three templates in this builder follow that layout, use real selectable text (nothing baked into images) and avoid the tables, text boxes and skill-bar graphics that applicant tracking systems misread.

Should I include a photo, date of birth or full address?

For most applications, no photo: many employers discard resumes with photos to avoid bias claims, and ATS software cannot read them. Give your city and country instead of a full home address, and skip date of birth, marital status and ID numbers — none of them help you get hired and all of them are privacy risks. Some local markets do expect a photo; if a specific employer asks for one, follow their instructions instead.

Do I need to pay or sign up to download my resume?

No. The builder, all three templates, the summary writer, the strength score and the keyword checker are free with no sign-up, and you can download as a Word document as often as you like, and printing this page from your browser prints just the clean resume — ready to save as a PDF. Your draft auto-saves in your own browser only — there is no account and nothing is uploaded.

How many skills should a fresher list?

Ten to fifteen, matched to the job you want: the tools and technical skills from the job posting first, then a few soft skills you can back up with an example. Listing thirty skills reads as padding — recruiters assume the bottom half is wishful thinking. The skills meter in Step 6 keeps you in the ideal range, and the role picker gives you a realistic starter list for your field.

Can I use this builder if I am still a student?

Yes — it is built for students and recent graduates. Put your expected graduation date, add class projects and relevant coursework, and list internships, part-time jobs and society or volunteer roles as experience. Come back and update the same draft as you gain experience; it stays saved in your browser.
